Visiting Family

Last Saturday we traveled to Georgia to visit some of Camden's relatives he had not met. We had a great time. Friday was Camden's Granddad's Birthday and the following Thursday was Camden's Great-Granddad's Birthday. My Aunt Suzanne and Ruth planned a B'Day party which was a lot of fun. We sang songs with a lot of family and all of Great-Granddad's neighbors. Camden had a great time meeting his Great-Grandad and there is a good picture of the two above. It was great to see all of our relatives and the party was a blast.

Sunday after church we went to Tracey's to visit with her family and Camden's Me-Mama. We had a great lunch and a fun time playing with Camden. He was fussy, but I think he was just hung-over from partying the day before. He slept like a baby Sunday night. Another good picture of Rachel, Camden, and Me-Mama shown above.

It is wonderful that we have Grandparents on both sides of our marriage that love Camden so much. We are very thankful and appreciative of all the love and support we receive. Camden has been such a blessing for Ashlee and I. Words couldn't begin to describe how our lives have changed since his arrival. It is a great feeling to see the happiness in the Grandparent's eyes when they visit with him.
Enjoy the pictures. Love you all, Chris

Camden in Auburn

We had a good time this weekend. The AC is now working. It only took about 10 hours for it to cool off, but it is fine now.

We were surprised Saturday by Aubie! Usually the cheerleaders are there, but when we saw Aubie... Ashlee's face lit up. She was so excited. Aubie came up to Camden and pulled his tail around and started tickling Camden's face with it. Aubie then put his arms out to hold him and we took a couple of pictures. The second picture didn't turn out so well because his whiskers hit Camden in the face and freaked him out. The cheerleaders were very nice and kind to pose for a picture with him as well.

We went to the dinner Friday, but I saved room for hot wings. It is not an Auburn trip unless I eat at Buffalo Connection. So much for the diet. Saturday we got up took some pictures around campus then hit the bookstores. After a few hours of shopping we grabbed some lunch then went to the AU lunch to get his picture with the cheerleaders. We did not attempt to watch any of the practice. It was just too hot outside for a baby or adult (especially an adult).

Thanks for all of the kind words and emails from everyone about this site. We love you all!

Is it hot enough for ya'?

Nothing really new to talk about, but I have a few new pics to share. Camden had his four month check-up last week. He has an enlarged blood vessel (I'm sure there is a medical term for it) in that flap of skin that covers your ear canal (I'm sure there is a medical term for it). It has gotten a little bigger and we have to take him to an ear specialist to have them look at it on August 22.

We are going to Auburn this weekend for the donor weekend. So we will see if the A/C is now working and let Ashlee buy him some AU clothes. There is a dinner Friday night, you attend practice on Saturday, then have a lunch. I'm sure there will be a few pictures taken of the three of us in Auburn.

This time I will include a picture or two of Ashlee. Some of our far away friends have never met her yet and I apologize for not having posted a picture of her yet. She is even prettier in person.
Love
Chris

My favorite time of the day....

My new favorite time of the day is Camden's bedtime. Not for the peace and quite like you might think, but to enjoy the blessing that we have every night. At night I am in charge of changing his diaper, putting on his PJ's, and giving him his last bottle. A task that I have grown to love. It is a little piece of heaven every night. We sit in his rocking chair while he eats and he usually falls asleep near the end of the bottle. I will rock him for a few minutes in my arms and then lay him in his bed. Some nights when he is playful will look up at me with the biggest and best grin I have ever seen in my life. When he grows-up and becomes a man and I become a really old man, I hope I can still remember all of these nights. This is now my favorite time of the day.

We took him to Auburn for the first time last week. We were going to get the condo ready for football season and go to the bookstores to buy him some AU gear, but our trip didn't last very long.
We unloaded the car, cranked-up the A/C inside the condo, and then went to eat. We got back from eating and I cleaned the condo. But, the bad news was the A/C was not working. It was about 85 degrees inside the condo. So we attempted to stay the night but sweat was pouring from our bodies. We couldn't take it anymore and decided to pack up the car and drive home at midnight. We got home safely about two hours later. So Camden's first trip to Auburn lasted about seven hours. Hopefully this isn't an omen for the upcoming season.

first post

Hello and thanks for looking. I wanted to do something to help everyone keep up to date on what is going on in Camden's life. It is hard for me to keep all of our family and friends updated, so I hope this will help. We are very thankful for all the love we receive from our friends and family.
Camden is a few days away from four months, so let's recap what has happened so far....

Camden Timothy Harper was born April 5, 2007 at Brookwood Hospital and came home Easter Sunday. I was able to take two weeks off and help while Ashlee rested. Let me first say how proud I was of Ashlee. We were both stressing as April 5 got closer and closer, but she was very strong and brave. I love you very much and will never be able to express in words how proud I was of you. Secondly, I would like to thank Dr. Lyle. One of the nicest men you will ever meet. He was wonderful during the entire pregnancy. He is now battling cancer and our prayers go out to him and his family. Get well soon, we hope to need you again next year! I would also like to thank our families. We hope to raise Camden with all of the love and support we were raised with. Thank you for instilling discipline and respect for others. Two things that will be beaten into Camden's head.

Well I now will attempt to upload some pictures for your viewing pleasure. He doesn't get his picture taken much so I will have to dig to find one or two.
